At this point you maybe expecting me to ask you to fork over some money for the answer. πŸ™‚

Nah…

I will tell you exactly what I did below.

I will even give you some resources to dig deeper.

Though I will offer a quick start guide at the end that goes over how I have implemented what I am about to explain.

But that’s for later, let me continue.

As I was saying, I found out what I was looking for.

How to lower my inflammation and reduce the pain I was experiencing.

Because, if you haven’t figured this out yet, I would have done just about anything at that point to relieve the pain I was suffering.

The pain was so bad that I started to think that (maybe) surgery wasn’t such a bad idea after all.

So what was key thing I was looking for?

Short version (it wont be short, I can yack about this stuff forever)…

Cut out the carbs to under 50 total grams per day.

In some cases under 20 grams.

To do that, you pretty much don’t eating anything sugary, starchy and even most fruit.

I am not saying anything was wrong with many of those foods, just that my body had an issue with them.

Of course the sugary foods were a no brainer.

It wasn’t until I understood that sugars (that’s what all carbs digest into) raise insulin levels and higher insulin levels will prevent the body from tapping into stored fat.

Let me explain it a different way.

(Note: this is my interpretation of how fat is stored, I am just a guy that wanted to lose weight, not a scientist, so understand I am a laymen, and my only focus on understanding this part was to get the ah-ha moment)

When we eat food that have carbs in it, the body removes excess glucose out of the blood stream and stores it into fat cells with insulin’s help (the body also stores glucose into muscle tissue).

Again, real basic explanation.

Too much glucose can be toxic.

In a healthy person, the body cycles that glucose to fat cells via insulin.

When the body needs that stored energy later, insulin levels drop and then the body can tap into those fat cells (like a battery).

What I finally figured out was that I had a problem with that cycle.

My fat storage was only working in one direction.

My insulin levels never lowered enough, so I was never able to tap into my fat storage.

My regulator was not working the way it should.

Or maybe I was extremely sensitive to glucose levels.

I don’t know and frankly I don’t care!

I found my answer, get insulin levels down and do it now.

So I went cold turkey cutting out the carbs.

Are you still reading?

I wont be surprised if there is a tiny voice in your head saying that there are healthy carbs and we have to have carbs…

I understand that, I thought the same thing. But…

While we DO need essential fatty acids (fats) and essential amino acids (protein) there are no essential carbohydrates.

That may be a lot to take in, but remember all that pain I was in.

How bad my life had gotten.

I told you I would do anything to get better (even surgery).

I am not going to defend whether or not there is such a thing as “essential carbohydrate”, you can google it yourself and read all about it.

You will see some links that will say while not essential, they are important.

Important for who?

Maybe for an athlete carbs could be important, but I am sure as hell not an athlete!

But…maybe not important for someone who’s insulin regulator was broke.

I just wanted to be pain free and lose weight!

And if my body was unable to lower insulin naturally when I was eating so called healthy carbs (which I had been), then I was going to cut them out and see what happened.

Before you click continue, I can understand if you don’t believe all the above because we have been told for a long time that carbs are good.

And for a person with a healthy insulin response thats probably true.

But we can only see the outside of a person, we have no idea if they really are healthy just because they are slim.

And I will say for someone such as myself that is obese, cutting carbs may be their last shot of losing the weight.

I know it was for me!

So anyways, I understand if you want to stop reading now because you don’t believe what I just wrote.

If that’s the case, I wish you well in your weight loss journey.

But if you’re game, click continue…
